Rotary International, Group Study Exchange
2009: South Korea
“The
Group Study Exchange for District 6900 will be with South Korea
in 2009. The district GSE committee is in the process of
accepting applications for team members and leaders. Please
distribute this to anyone you think might be interested – the
criteria for participation is set forth below
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone in our community to
have an amazing experience with very little expense. The
exchange in 2009 will be even more special because Rotary’s
International President for 2008-09 is D. K. Lee from South
Korea AND the President of South Korea is a Rotarian. The
deadline for applications is August 31, 2008. Let’s find some
candidates from Marietta Metro! Please call
Renee Lanier with questions.”
Each
year the Rotary Clubs of Georgia sponsor an opportunity to have an intense
international experience through the Group Study Exchange (GSE). In September,
four or five young professionals that are NOT Rotarians from west Georgia and
the Atlanta metro area will be selected to travel to South Korea with a Rotarian
team leader.
The South Korea trip is
for approximately one month in April, 2009, going to the
Gyeongsangbug
District, east of
Seoul. All travel
expenses are provided by Rotary International, and food, housing, and local
transportation are provided by Rotary members and their families in South Korea.
If you have an interest in
this trip, please see the information below, and download an application.
Applications are due by August 29 and require a Rotary Club sponsorship. Rene
Lanier is the GSE Coordinator for the Rotary Club of Marietta Metro. Her
contact information is below. If selected for the candidate short list, a
personal interview will be scheduled on Saturday, September 13, 2008.
